HIATUS

Due to my busy schedule, I think I am going to take a hiatus from HKISSOPRETTY! I am launching a new blog on tumblr: WAHOOOZ! at Wahoooz.tumblr.com. As most of you may know, I am always on the go and I barely have time to sit down and do homework. I go to school, work, and have become involved in the AIGA SFSU Student Chapter as the Membership officer. Exciting news is coming up in the next year and I am slowly preparing myself for it. O_O

With Tumblr, I have download the Tumblr app on the iPhone, which makes it a lot easier to make quick posts throughout the day. I end up posting a lot of pictures rather than text on this blog anyways, so Tumblr makes that easy.

I don't know how long this break will be but I will be back!

BERKELEY

A couple of weekends ago Rachel and I decided to enjoy the sunny sunny day in San Francisco. We headed to Embarcadero and ate at Osha Thai. We had a very delicious mango salad and pad thai. We got dessert at the Ferry Building at the Gelato place (I forgot what it was called). Randomly, we headed to Berkeley and walked on Telegraph and the UCB campus. Probably one of my favorite days of the summer.

I went to San Diego last week and my Cousin, Lhuween, and I made the Hamburger cupcakes that I saw on Flickr the other week. They did not turn out like the ones in the pictures but they are close. We used muffin pans rather than cupcakes so they were humongo! Check them out!

SIMON

On Wednesday, Clara and I bought our first child. Okay.. well our first hamster! A robo hamster to be exact. We named him Simon! The name just popped into my head and it just stuck. He will be the 201 Serrano mascot! :) Check out the video:

TWEETDECK

As some of you may know, I have been on Twitter for a couple of months now. I think it's a great way to find out information quick and fast (and to stalk people). In my Public Relations class, my Professor, Shari Weiss, talks about all the different social media that is out there. She emphasizes the use of TweetDeck, which is a Twitter app that allows you to manage your account and tweets. I have tried Tweetdeck in the past, and honestly, I did not like it. I have been using Tweetie for the past few months. But after a presentation in our Public Relations class, I decided to try it again because of the fact that you can create columns that search for a specific topic. I have recently decided that I want to do packaging design as part of my design emphasis. Now, I have a special column that searches for what people are talking about in terms of packaging design. There is so much out there and I have discovered all this cool material!

MA & TAT

Last week, my parents visited me in San Francisco. We decided to eat dinner at Serramonte because I wanted to go to Target. After dinner, I decided to take pictures of my parents, especially because my mom is such a Facebook enthusiast. I tried editing this specific picture in Adobe Lightroom. Still playing around with the features but I am liking it so far.

SO LONG G9

I said my farewell to my Canon G9. I have had that camera for about a year and used it for most of the pictures on this blog. I finally found a owner for him. Now my full attention is at my Canon XSi. Have fun with the camera Aaron, he treated me well!

PIKA PIKA

If you have been to Japan Town in San Francisco, you are probably familiar with Pika pictures. I have no idea if that is what it's really called but they've been around for a couple of years now. The past few times Ive been to Japan Town, I always crave to take these pictures. First, you go into a small room with a green screen. It's like a huge photobooth. You pick themes for your pictures. They're always so random. It stresses me out because the language is in japanese and it's timed so if you do not pick an option right away, it will pick one for you. After you take the pictures, you go outside and edit the pictures. They're pretty pricey but probably because Japan Town is a total tourist spot. Definitely try and take these pictures if you never have and are in Japan town.
